As the colder months approach, it’s important to be aware of your tire pressure. Just as at the beginning of the summer season, you’ll want to make sure you have the right tire pressure throughout the colder fall and winter months.
Cold air can cause tires to lose pressure around 1psi per 10 degree drop. It’s important to keep the pressure at the right level as the pavement gets wet from the rain or icy or snowy when the temperatures drop. If you lose enough pressure your tire won’t have the necessary contact with the road and traction you need to safely drive in inclement weather.
